Gemma Barker

Gemma is a qualified financial planner and joined Equanimity’s advice team in January 2022. Her approach to advice is friendly and patient, bringing her clients empowerment and understanding of their own finances. Working together, Gemma will help you identify your financial goals and set you on the path to achieving them.
She has a particular focus on helping clients implement effective intergenerational planning strategies, ensuring an effective transfer of wealth to the next generation.
Gemma is a foodie, always on the hunt for a new favourite restaurant and enjoys keeping fit, whether it is a countryside walk with the dog or a game of tennis.

Sam Stedman

Sam is part of Equanimity’s Advising Team and joined the industry after graduating from University. He works with clients with a multitude of varying circumstances and provides them with the confidence to make well-informed decisions on their own finances by offering tailored advice.
He has an abundance of experience dealing with business owners which includes advising entrepreneurs from technology companies to jewelry designers.
Outside of work, Sam enjoys playing golf (he felt it necessary to disclose this is on a social level, reflected with his ‘social handicap’) and has more recently continued his love for Rugby by joining a team in London.

Nicola Wright

As our Head of Operations, Nicola is an experienced professional in all areas of managing and operating a financial services business and is also a member of the Institute of Leadership and Management. Outside of work, when her Daughter is not keeping her busy, Nicola enjoys spending time with her family and friends and particularly loves to travel.

Ben O’Connell

Ben has been working in Financial Services since 2010 working for various IFA’s, with a short sabbatical in 2018 to 2020 where he resided in Australia on a temporary basis. Ben’s passion outside of Financial services include Music, Culture & Sport, and is especially passionate about his now local team The Arsenal.

Ethan Kelly

Ethan has an Economics degree from the University of Surrey which included a placement year working at a financial services firm. As well as supporting our advisers and paraplanners, Ethan has started a Paraplanning apprenticeship scheme and hopes to complete it within two years. Outside of work, Ethan enjoys spending time with friends, playing Saturday league football and getting to travel whenever he has the chance.

Aaron O’Donoghue

Aaron started his career in financial services back in 2017 and has gained experience supporting Advisers and Paraplanners. He is currently working towards the Diploma in Financial Planning, aiming to grow and progress through the ranks at Equanimity. Outside of work, Aaron enjoys competing with his brothers in the gym, exploring new areas on the motorbike and being with his friends and family.

Raffaele Lagattolla

Raffaele graduated in law from the University of Sussex in 2013. After leaving university, he pursued a career in commercial aviation for some time but eventually joined Financial Services in 2019, gaining his Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning in 2021. At Equanimity, as a Paraplanner, Raffaele’s role consists of talking to clients about their plans and helping our advisors prepare for client meetings, as well as discussing recommendations with them. Outside of work he greatly enjoys cooking and Olympic fencing, which is his main sporting passion.

Shalini Gupta

Shalini began her career as a Paraplanner in 2019. She is currently working towards the Diploma in Financial Planning. Outside of work, Shalini enjoys reading, going to concerts, trying out new restaurants in London and spending time with family and friends.

Mat Turner

Mat is currently studying Economics with International Finance and Banking at Nottingham Trent University. He has joined us for the year as part of his course to help kickstart his career in financial services. In his spare time he enjoys playing golf, listening to music, and socialising with friends.

Joanne Vickers

Joanne has worked for the NHS for a number of years and has now joined the team at Equanimity as an Executive Assistant. Outside of work, Joanne enjoys travelling with friends and cooking the new dishes she has tried while abroad.

Sheneli Weerasinghe

Sheneli graduated with a dual bachelor’s degree in Economics & Behavioural Science, and has been working in the financial planning industry since 2021. Sheneli joined the support team a year after moving to the UK from Australia, which is where she grew up. In her spare time, Sheneli likes to travel, listen to music, read, and socialise with friends.
